THE FOUNDER

Discover

ART ORIGINS

Founder Kurt Robertson works at the intersection of composition and environment. His practice spans painting, sculptural study, spatial design, and architectural interiors, unified within a cohesive studio language. The Australian landscape remains a structural reference, informing proportion, restraint, and scale. Nature is approached not as ornament, but as order, tension and stillness, growth and erosion.

Within ROBERTSONKUR, these influences are refined into works developed with clarity and control, intended for lasting placement within considered environments.

OVER A DECADE OF DESIGN

Since 2011, ROBERTSONKUR has developed as a studio practice shaped by continuity rather than acceleration. Each year has contributed to the refinement, grounded in nature, informed by architectural proportion, and resolved through disciplined studio process.

What began as a focused body of floral studies has evolved into a collection-based practice extending across interior environments and international placements.

Expanding Horizons

Founder Kurt Robertson’s practice extends across both residential and commercial environments, with interiors developed locally and internationally.

In 2017, the studio expanded from interior and architectural design services, into the vision of sculpture and art. Since its establishment in 2011, ROBERTSONKUR has operated with a consistent emphasis on material quality, proportion, and longevity. The studio approaches space as an extension of composition. Walls are not treated as surfaces alone, but as environments capable of transformation.

“Give me the walls, and I’ll make them a garden.” Kurt Robertson

Nature informs structure rather than ornament. Stillness informs scale. The result is work conceived not merely for display, but for placement within lived architecture.

Global Reach

ROBERTSONKUR has extended beyond Australia into international collections.

The studio’s following has grown steadily, with over 50,000 individuals observing the development of the Peony Garden body of work. Many have transitioned from observers to collectors, participating in the studio’s expansion through acquisition and long-term dialogue. Growth has not been accelerated for visibility, but sustained through continuity of vision.

Nature remains the underlying reference point, not as decoration, but as structure. Form, bloom, and season inform each composition. As the studio evolves, its focus remains unchanged: to develop works of considered presence, intended for placement within enduring collections.
