BEHIND THE FACE

Creative Director Kurt Robertson's first portraiture was painted in 2018 for entry into one of Australia's largest Art competitions. Formed in 1921, the Archibald Prize is awarded annually, held at the Art Gallery of NSW. 

The artwork was a successful entry into the prestigious competition. Taking over 100 hours to complete, this piece allowed the Creative Director to further develop his skills in mastering the brush.

"I thought of several individuals to paint for my first dive into the world of portraiture. As time went on, I pondered over a hot tea thinking of the best candidate to choose. I decided in the end to paint myself, to see how well I knew my features and what I may not like about some as well. In the end it was a wonderfull experience that gave me greater understanding of what I see in myself. I will be entering again" K.Robertson
